Veil of Nova

The springy lea under me,
The veil of sky above, unyielding with glee,
I feel so little, like a speck,
But a speck that could make a difference;

A speck that could leave a mark of potence!

I see a range of stars,
Bright and dull, still and stirred, but none at par!
You look so ambrosial, with ease,
No wonder you’re called heavenly bodies!
I wonder, what if you were more than guiding lights?
What if you were stand-alone cities, glowing bright?
What if you were all actually cars of clock,

Some racing, some stranded in gridlock?

What if I lived there instead of here?
What if I rode your cars on gear?
Would I see constellations wither?
Ten billion miles away, a star is born,
And another perishes without fear,
As smooth as a snowflake that merges with a tear.
If I were up there, would I see my soul cower?
Would I see the cities down here glimmer?
Would I find my lonely speck tugging at

Random thoughts that, with me chat?

How did we find you?
Was it because, of darkness we had no clue?
The curious mind,
Looking up when the sun was down,
Trying to search for meaning in your town.
As you swim in the endless veil,

The heart sets sail, to tell its own tale.

How do you manage to be as tranquil as you seem?

How do you hush up all the explosive beams?
Rising from the ashes, and sheltered in the dark,
How do you still contain the immortal blaze, happy as a lark?
Little do you know the impact you make,
About the sailors whose path you trace,
About lovers whose distance you palliate,

About logophiles whose worlds you rake.

You imbibe in us valour, hope and peace,
In ways that would never cease.
So, as one of the perusers of the sky,
Humbly grateful am I, for the answers of the numerous whys;
For what you stand for,and for what you teach,
For the brighter-than-you morales that you preach!
And so you make me feel so little, like a speck,
But a speck that could make a difference;
A speck that could leave a mark of potence!
